World’s best hot chocolate… at least according to Varsovians

Polish winters are tough! You deserve a treat, especially if you’re after a day of sight-seeing! Ask anyone and you’ll learn that the best chocolate is made by Wedel company here in Warsaw, Poland. The company was founded back in the first half of 19th century and is famous for many other products including Ptasie Mleczko chocolate-covered marshmallows, mieszanka wedlowska candy mix and Delicje szampańskie cookies.

To have a real hot chocolate drink (and not just cocoa), head for the imperial-style cafe in the former chocolate factory, located smack in the city center. 12 PLN gets you a cup of chocolatey bliss. Have a window seat to admire snow-covered Warsaw. Smacznego/bon appetit!

Best burgers in town

Warburger, voted Warsaw’s best gourmet burger joint in 2012, remains a favorite among Varsovians. This small stall, conveniently located between Relaks, our favorite café (ul. Dąbrowskiego 48) and Limoni ice cream parlor (we esp. recommend the savory flavors, like tomato or beetroot!), is always filled with people, which explains why the waiting time is 15 minutes at least. But so worth it! They even have a goat-cheese burger for all the vegans out there. Try their wild meat special (Dziki burger) on Wednesday and Thursday and don’t forget to grab the free apple they offer on your way out!

Where: Warburger at the corner of Puławska and Dąbrowskiego
