If You haven’t participated in The Jewish Film Festival „Jewish Motifs” last spring don’t worry, now You have chance to catch up. Jewish Museum projection room will provide space for presentation of 3 movies from the last year programme. „Jewish Motifs” Film Festival is focused on issues like Jewish identity, tradition and history. Tommorow You can see films from Germany, Israel and Czech Republic

Pre-war Jewish Warsaw in the lens of Menachem Kipnis
Menachem Kipnis was the men of Renaissance. Publisher, photographer, author of many lyrics, social activist but above all the singer and popularizer of Jewish folk tunes. He received musical education in music conservatory and became a cantor (chief singer) in the synagogue. He was the only Jewish singer accepted to be a member of the National Theatre in 1902 ( Tzarist Russia was very opressive towards the Jews). He loved his People and he used his position to fight for their rights. Photographs presented in the Jewish Historical Institute were made by Kipnis for the New York daily “ Forverts”. They’re depicting Jewish life in Second Polish Life. The world wich is not present in polish landscape any more.
