Grand Press Photo at Centralny
 

Whether you’re planning to travel from Warsaw on a train or not, you should not miss the city’s Central Train Station (Warszawa Centralna). The recently renovated building is one of the icons of the architecture of 1970s but apart from that, starting from tomorrow, you get a chance to see the best pictures taken around the world in 2012 and awarded in Grand Press Photo contest. No need to buy a ticket, unless you’re planning to take a train anyway:)

Primus Inter Pares
 

Visit the pearl of Polish Baroque in Wilanów, the summer residence of one of the most famous kings of Poland – Jan III Sobieski, who the Turks called the ‘Lion of Lechistan’. If you want to find out why, see the surprising and daring exhibition – Primus Inter Pares – fully devoted to one of the greatest warriors in the history of Europe. And if the weather permits, discover the beauty of the reconstructed baroque park that surrounds the royal residence.

Chopin for Free!
 

Opened only in 2010 (on the occasion of Chopin’s 200th birthday), this tech-savvy museum located in a meticulously restored palace gives an impressive account of the life of Poland’s national composer, Frederic Chopin; from his early days in Żelazowa Wola and Warsaw to his great career in Paris. Multilingual audioguides will help you follow the exhibition without getting lost. Tuesday is when you don’t pay the entrance fee!
