Baaba-superstar of the off scene

Baaba is a group of musicians who love to experiment. They combine electronic with jazz and rock improvisation. They have performed all over the world, interpreted works of great Polish jazz composer, Krzysztof Komeda and …heavy metal classic- Iron Maiden. Their last album was  a tribute paid to the bigbeat Polish bands which have already been forgotten. Quite wide range of inspirations, isn’it interesting?

Polish your British

Late 1980s and 1990s was a time of a great outburst of the modern art, both in Poland and Great Britain. Artist representing what was later called the group of Yong British Artists and Polish critical art used controversy, provocation and mass media techniques to atract attention and start the discussion on such topics as death, violence, gender and role of the individual in society. Some of them , f.ex. Damien Hirst gained huge popularity so modern art has one out of the niche and got its place in popular culture. Polish critical art explored such topics as religion,  the national mythology and trauma and the gnder issues what was a new thing for Poland of the beginnig of the 1990s. Some of the works caused protests and were debated not only by the art lovers but by random people as well(that was the case o the woks of Katarzyna Kozyra) trying answer the questions such as ‘what is art?’, ‘what are the boundaries of the artistic expression?’ etc. Try to answer them yourself at Polish Polish British British exhibition.
