Polish contribution to popculture
 

You’ve heard of The Clash, Velvet Underground, Miles Davis, Aretha Franklin? What they all have in common is that covers of some of their albums were designed by two Polish graphic designers: Rosław Szaybo and Stanisław Zagórski. Now, without even changing your tourist route, you can pop in to Kordegarda gallery (just opposite the President’s Palace in Krakowskie Przedmieście!) to see their works. Don’t miss this one, it’s on just for a shor time!

Georgian and Afro-Warsaw voices together
 

Chveneburebi is a male voice group from Georgia which presents famous multivoice singing with the support of traditional instruments. This Saturday they perform with a special guest, Ifi Ude. She is a very creative  Afro-Polish artist, located in Warsaw,  who uses various techniques to present all the inspirations she gets from different cultures.

The afterparty is a Diskopartizani party: Gypsy-Balkan-Electro-Turbofolk 🙂

Pictures from inside the Warsaw Ghetto
 

On April 19th, Warsaw will commemorate the 70th anniversary of the outbreak of the Warsaw Ghetto Uprising. An exhibition held at the History Meeting House presents pictures taken in those very first days when the walls were erected and when the Jewish inhabitants of Warsaw were forced by the Nazis to leave their houses and spend the rest of their lives in the ghetto. Don’t miss that exhibition as you walk down Krakowskie Przedmieście.
