#DESIGN

A charming art and fashion fair

Polonia House is one of the most impressive buildings along Krakowskie Przedmieście, conveniently located a stone’s throw away from the Sigismund Column, where the Orange Umbrella Free Tour begins and ends. If you’re cold after all the walking, head inside to see (or even buy) young Polish design at the “Charmed” applied art market (KIermasz sztuki użytkowej Urzeczenie). Limited series, alternative design (bags made from t-shirts, anyone?), lamps made from phones… should be fun even if you leave empty-handed! If you like it, come back on Sunday, some designers will only be there one day!

#ART

What wasn’t here yesterday won’t be here tomorrow!

Located downtown in a lovely pre-war tenement house, Raster is a legendary independent gallery widely responsible for international career of various Polish artists like Wilhelm Sasnal or Jakub Julian Ziółkowski. April 6th is the final day of the Tego wczoraj nie było (“It wasn’t here yesterday”) of exhibit, showcasing the work of 4 artists: Michał Diament, Sławomir Elsner, Igor Krenz from Poland and Navid Nuur from Iran. The exhibition attempts to make sense of contemporary abstract art, juxtaposing some abstract works with documentary pieces. The gallery owners like to hang around and chat to their visitors, too!
