#CONCERT

Gdynia in Warsaw

1926 is the year when the port city of Gdynia was granted city rights and at the same time the name of a rock band originating from that city. However this Sunday, the band which made its name during last year’s unforgettable OFF festival, will perform in Warsaw. If you are a fan of alternative music played in New York in the 1980s blended with noise rock, space rock and shoegaze, don’t miss this concert!

Top food for rock bottom price!

If you see the name Gessler written on a restaurant in Warsaw, two things are guaranteed – 1) the food is great 2) but also rather expensive. One of those restaurants is Warszawa Wschodnia (Eastern Warsaw), which blends the best traditions of old Polish cuisine with French tastes creating superb meals, and all this in an old factory building at the post-industrial Soho Factory in Praga. Here’s the good news! If you decide to each lunch there on a working day, you will only pay 20 PLN for a 3-course set, including soup, 2nd course and dessert. Plus water! And there are always to sets to choose from – regular and vegetarian! Enjoy!

#SIGHTSEEING

Go East!

You think the Palace of Culture and Science is the only Stalin-inspired building in Warsaw? All you need is a short walk along the Marszałkowska street and you’ll find yourself in the middle of a whole socialist-realist district, called the MDM, the inspiration for which was the Gorky street in Moscow and Stalinallee in East Berlin. Take a trip in time to discover the characteristic architecture, mosaics, monuments of muscular workers and much more. And as you continue your walk you might end up at the Savior’s square and have a coffee in one of the bars of Warsaw’s ‘hipster zone’ or stop by at the MDM coffee bar. This could be a nice alternative to spend a day wandering around Warsaw?
