Cinema in 5 Asian flavors

Seven years ago, a group of cultural activists decided to spark Varsovians’ interest in the city’s biggest ethnic minority – the Vietnamese. A whole bunch of projects related to the Vietnamese community ensued, the most enduring one being this film festival, which now presents movies from other Southeast Asian countries as well. This year’s “Cinema in 5 flavors” festival focuses on Hong Kong, presenting a retrospective of Johnnie To films. The festival will also give you a chance to see the latest movie by Wong Kar Wai, “Grandmaster”! Screenings will be held in Luna and Muranów theaters throughout the week, beginning Monday. Head to Muranów and apart from the screening, you’ll see social-realist interiors and a quote from Lenin above the entrance.
