Pre-war Jewish Warsaw in the lens of Menachem Kipnis
Menachem Kipnis was the men of Renaissance. Publisher, photographer, author of many lyrics, social activist but above all the singer and popularizer of Jewish folk tunes. He received musical education in music conservatory and became a cantor (chief singer) in the synagogue. He was the only Jewish singer accepted to be a member of the National Theatre in 1902 ( Tzarist Russia was very opressive towards the Jews). He loved his People and he used his position to fight for their rights. Photographs presented in the Jewish Historical Institute were made by Kipnis for the New York daily “ Forverts”. They’re depicting Jewish life in Second Polish Republic. The world wich is not present in Polish landscape any more.

Kovalczyk Quintet
Paweł Kowalczyk has an incredible energetic and powerful voice with a sepcific funk vibe. He has just released a video to his song and its premiere will be at the cozy restaurant/bar combined with a performance. If you like classic jazz and funk you will enjoy it. Ther are no tables left for reservations, so come 7 pm sharp to be at the concert!

If you don’t want to sip your Monday pint of beer listening to hits from the radio, pop into Barometr, a club-bar just next to Warsaw’s famous Palm Tree, for a live jam session. If you happen to carry a musical instrument you can play with you, you’ll pay no entrance fee:)
