Electro-Lutosławski
 

Witold Lutosłąwski was one of the greatest Polish and European composers of the 20th c. and 2013 was proclaimed the Lutosławski year by the Polish parliament to celebrate 100th anniversary of his birth. If you’d like to know the composer’s music a bit more and decide if it’s worth remembering his name along the one of Chopin, after your visit to Poland, don’t miss the opportunity of attending a concert in the Royal Castle courtyard!

Warsaw Rising Museum

The 1944 Uprising in Warsaw was one of the biggest battles of resistance against the Nazi in Europe during WWII and brought almost complete destruction of the city. The Museum tells the story of tragic events of August and Spetember 1944 in a multimedia-based way. It’s an enthralling journey through the history of the struggle of the people of Warsaw for independence. 

It’s also one of very few museums in Warsaw open on Mondays. What’s more, on that particular day, it’s free of charge.

Poster Museum
 

The Poster Museum in Wilanów is the oldest institution of this type in the world. It houses 30 thousand items which represent the history of poster art from 1892 to contemporary times and this makes it one of the world largest collections of this art form. Located in a 19th century riding school in the surroundings of the summer residence of King Jan Sobieski, the museum is a true gem for art lovers. This summer, the museum is holding its 24th International Poster Bienalle featuring the finest works of world-class artists. A true must-see!
