St. Nicolas Day
One of the great things about being a kid in Poland is that you get something from Santa twice in December: on Christmas Eve – when he visits your house in person leaving presents under the Christmas tree, and on December 6th – that is, on St. Nicolas Day, which we call “Mikołajki” – when he sends his helpers to leave a small gift under your pillow while you are asleep. Adults celebrate Mikołajki too – some buy small gifts for their friends, beloved ones and even colleagues from work, others believe it’s another great reason to go out partying. If you are interested in the last option, visit Sztuki&Sztuczki on Friday night to see what Santa’s little helpers have prepared for you apart from great music and fabulous drinks!

Banquet with Kele BLOC PARTY
BLOC PARTY is undoubtedly one of the top indie rock bands with millions of albums sold. Doug Shipton is one of the co-founders of the legendary Finders Keepers Records, a cult UK label dedicated to unearthing schizoid channel-hopping artefacts from the alternate annals of pop history (be it Wales, India, Iran, Thailand, Hungary or Brazil). An important element of the Finders Keepers back catalogue are recordings published behind the Iron Curtain (i.e. communist Poland as well). This St. Nicolas Day, join Doug and two Polish DJs for a night on the dancefloor. You’ll hear forgotten musical gems from around the world that will make you go footloose!

If you have been following our recommendations you may have noticed that during summer months Poles seek ways to cool down and think about the winter, and when it gets cold we always try to do things which get us closer to the summer So, a party filled with Latin American rhythms coming straight from Chile to Warsaw in December should not be a surprise.
