Originally painted racing machines

For the first time in Poland you can see Art BMW Collection. Exhibit includes cars decorated by world class artists like Roy Lichtenstein (BMW 320i, 1977) and Andy Warhol(BMW M1,1979) who treated car body like if it was a canvas. The whole idea has started in 1975when french racing driver Henri Poulain asked american artist Alexander Calder to paint his BMW 3.0 CSL. Calder’s aim was to create an impression of dynamic and motion of the car riding with a furious speed. Milk Bar 2.0

If you’ve already been to our free walking tour, you know that milk bars are those mysterious and exciting eateries where time stopped around 20-30 years ago. Still, they’re becoming more and more popular and on the wave of ‘milk bar revival’ some of them are reopened in a formula that combines the best of what they used to be and what they may be now. That’s what we called milk bars 2.0:) The ultimate example is Prasowy, a bar that has worked since 1954 in Marszałkowska St. It was closed a couple of years ago but now has come back with modern (but still vintage) interior design, complimentary wifi and toilet (something you can’t even think of in most milk bars!) and same low prices (tomato soup at 1.5 zł, anyone?:) The present form of Prasowy is a result of a battle fought by city activists who managed to convince the authorities to keep the place a milk bar instead of renting it to banks or chain shops. So don’t be surprised to see pensioners sitting next to hipsters with their macs just next to each other.
