Christmas Concert

Before Christmas, upholding the beautiful, long tradition, Warsaw Philharmonic Choir invites to the concert of Christmas songs and carols, presenting best arrangements of this repertoire. One may hear both well-known and less frequently performed songs from the vast repertoire of hundreds of Polish Christmas songs from over 500 years. One of the first collectors and researchers of them was Father Michał Mioduszewski, author of very important, pioneering collection of „Christmas Songs and Carols with Melodies” (1843). Melodies and texts were also collected by among others Oskar Kolberg, Zygmunt Gloger, Aleksander Brückner and Father Jan Siedlecki, author of „The Church Songbook” (1878), which is used as the foundation for many choral and solo arrangements until today. Indefatigable explorer of Polish music Henryk Wojnarowski will prepare selection of the best compositions, while the choir and selected soloists will perform them in matchless way.
