The best percussionist ever…
…is Hubert Zemler from Warsaw 🙂 However it’s hard to decide on one from many talented musicians we have in Poland, he is definetly creme de la creme- performing in jazz, ragga and batucada groups. He plays softly and with care of the sound, creates hundreds of tones which express his vivid imagination, he’s incredibly precise and at the same time he’s a humble, open person which U hear in the way he plays. And yes, that’s a solo percussion performance- but far from boring, pompous solo concert U sometimes get from a solo musician. Really worth attending.

Extraordinary ordinary world

Willem Van Dem Poll was a Dutch photographer and reporter. In 1934 he travelled throug Poland and took a few hundred photographs, a big part of them in Warsaw. He captured everyday life of Varsovians, portraited famous people of that time (both politicians and actresses) and observed important landmarks of the Polish capital. This photographs have never been published before and every new collection presenting the image of the city which is gone is both informative and touching.
