It’s Fat Thursday, have a donut!
This is the last Thursday before Lent, tradition requires that you stuff yourself senseless with sweets, preferably donuts (pączki) or faworki, so don’t be surprised if you see huge lines in front of most pastry shops. Everyone has their favorites, we’ll give you ours, too! If pastry shop at Górczewska 15 is too far and Blikle cafe donuts are too expensive for you, head for Cukiernia Pawłowicz on Chmielna 13 and get a warm oozing yumminess, preferably with two fillings (our favorites include chocolate&cherrry and rose jam&almond). Smacznego!

Polish ska-punk!
The Mugshots are embarking on a concert tour and Warsaw is their first stop. The group, consisting of – as they describe themselves – two fatties, one man with a mustache, a stick man, a dwarf and a lawyer, has been around for 6 years. Their music is inspired by the likes of Bad Religion, Rage Against the Machine, Defeater and NOFX.

Alcohol stock market!
Every Thursday in February, Karmnik bar invites you to test your luck at the alcohol stock market: shots and cocktails will be sold like stocks, starting dirt-cheap prices, will rise once someone someone buys a cocktail, thereby lowering the price of a different one. This way you decide about alcohol prices! But prepared for a stock market crash every now and then! Now you know why Karmnik bartenders wear suspenders
