The Great Orchestra of Holiday Help!
The Grand Finale of Wielka Orkiestra Świątecznej Pomocy (Great Orchestra of Christmas Charity) is this Sunday! Every year in January, Poles take to the streets (and their wallets) to help raise money for medical equipment necessary to save lives of infants, while Polish artists play free public concerts in cities and towns throughout the country. Last year over $16 million dollars were raised – all in one day!
Whatever amount you decide to chip in will get you a heart-shaped red sticker that will serve as proof of your contribution to the cause. So don’t be surprised if people will keep on asking money from you if you do not have one!
This year the Orchestra will also play to raise money for medical care of seniors.
Concerts in front of the Palace of Culture will begin at 1:30 PM. Come around 8 PM for the “Lights to the Sky” happening

One of Warsaw’s best brunch venues is offering a special brunch this weekend – have yourself some sunny-side-up eggs, bacon, hash browns and beans – and perhaps get a second or third helping, too! 20 PLN gets you all-you-can-eat buffet and a drink.

FLASHMOB! Off with your pants!
Take off your pants for no reason in the 12th edition of No Pants Subway Ride Warsaw flashmob. If anyone asks, say that the skirt/pants took a day off. Or called in sick. And yes, it can be a bit chilly, so have your pants handy once it gets to cold for you. If you see anyone else in their underwear, pretend you don’t know them.
The meeting point is at Wilanowska subway station, one level above the platform, where you can wait for other flashmobbers and not get snowed in 😉
