#MUSEUM/ANNIVERSARY

Learn more about the Warsaw Uprising before its anniversary!

This week our city is getting ready to commemorate one of the most dramatic and daring events in its contemporary history – the Warsaw Uprising, which started on August 1st, 1944. This painful battle for freedom was initiated by the Home Army supported by civilians. Despite the high spirits and strong will, the disproportion between the well-equipped Nazi army and the exhausted and defenseless civilians determined the uprising’s failure. To learn more about the Uprising and to to understand why we attach so much importance to this event, visit the Warsaw Uprising Museum, which, unlike most museums in Warsaw, is opened and free of charge on that day!
