Charlatans at the wedding

Carpathian Folk Band, Skojani Charlatans play dancy and energetic folk music from Transylvania singing in Jidysz, Romani and Romanian. Along with the second band, Belligerence (bizzare jazz illustrating nightmares from your childhood) they will be the wedding orchestra for the couple who will be joined together in the Pasta-rian order. Just a few month ago, a new religion was admitted officialy in Poland- The Church of a Flying Spaghetti Monster. It’s not a joke, it’s a serous matter and a battle won by those who oppose the primary position of a Ctaholic church in Poland and its privileges. Therefore, you can expect some extremely original people and a loads of fun and dancing 🙂

#PERFORMANCE #DANCE

Contemporary in different forms

“Spinning” or “Whirling” would be a translation of Polish “Zawirowania” which is the most important festival for the contemporary dance in Poland. This edition’s highlight is a show from Israel, performed by the famous Kibbutz Contemporary Dance Company but what we suggest is to see some of the Polish artists. Dance, in general, in Poland is still a niche, sometimes not treated seriously, perceived as sport or something which is nice&easy. On the other hand, there are a lot of supertalented people with creative energy and original vision, so its worth to see how POlish performes differ from their collegues from other countries.

Where: Zawirowania festival, different location (Studio Theatre-Palace of Culture and Science, Stara Prochownia-Old Town)
When: June 24-29, usuallly 8pm, check the programme for the exact schedule, POlish dance company show on Wednesday at 6pm in Stara Prochownia
How much: 20 pln, KCDC show from 60pln

Kerach Tejsza

That’s the name of an Israeli britpop-rock band which is very popular in their homecountry. Some of their songs are inspired by the Polish poet singer Jacek Kaczmarski, others based on the poems written by a boy who lived in pOland but was killed in a German Nazi camp durin WWII. They recently got a number of hits in Israel again so they are in good vibe!
