As You Can See: Polish Art Today

The exhibition at Warsaw’s Museum of Contemporary Art is the first show of current Polish art spanning such range for more than a decade. It centres around important works, attitudes, and themes commented on by visual artists over recent years.
The curators – Sebastian Cichocki and Łukasz Ronduda – have purposely reached for the conservative format of an artistic salon, shifting the centre of gravity from exhibition experiments to artworks themselves, whilst allowing the salon itself to be particular: critical, emancipatory, psychedelic, occasionally brutal and perverse, dense and ambiguous. Stravinsky’s Soldiers Tale at The Music University

Stravinsky , one of the most influencial russian composers, pushed the bounderies of musical design. He’s mostly known for his fantastic ballet “Rite of Spring” .“Soldier’s Tale” ( premiered in 1918) is a theatrical piece to be “read, played and danced” It’s a parable of a soldier who trades his fiddle to the devil in return for a book wich contains events that will happen in the future. You can easily imagine story ends tragically cause our hero wouldn’t be able to liberate himself from the power of the devil ( full libretto: click to open ). Furthermore You’ll hear S. Prokofiev’s Op.39 Qiuintet the same evening!
