The life of Warsaw

“Życie Warszawy” or the “Life of Warsaw” was a local newspaper that stopped being published a few years ago. It now is a typical Warsaw bar with a twist, escaping the 4zł shot and 8zł sausage formula. At just a tad higher prices, ŻW offers better quality alcohol and more interesting local food, all in the city center! Examples: baked potato dumplings with cheese – 6zł, liver with mushrooms in cream – 9zł, beef tongue in horseradish sauce – 12zł, prosecco – 6zł, Jack Daniels – 10 zł. Go for it!

EU accession celebrations in Warsaw’s most beautiful park

Łazienki is the Royal Baths Park that is an absolute must when visiting Warsaw. This Thursday, the park will be a venue for celebrations connected with the 10th anniversary of Poland joining the EU. If you’re lucky, you might catch a glimpse of Polish President Bronisław Komorowski planting the Freedom Oak at 10 am by the New Orangerie building (see featured phoot). Lounge chairs and picnic attractions will be organized for kids and grown-ups throughout the park. Guests to the anniversary picnic will be treated to a pączek or Polish doughnut – 10000 of these have been prepared!
Also, throughout the long May weekend, entrance into all buildings inside the park is free of charge – so take your time!
