Jazz in The Old Town

Spend this Saturday night at the Market Square listening to world-class Jazz Music! For the twentieth time, jazz stars from all over the world and Polish top performers are gathering in Warsaw to offer musical experience that will be remembered long after the summer is gone. This Saturday, you’ll have the opportunity to listen to jazz crème de la crème – Mike Stern and Bill Evans.

Mike Stern is a world-famous jazz-fusion guitarist, known for recording music and playing live concerts together with such stars as Miles Davis, Jaco Pastorius, Steps Ahead and Randy Becker, to name a few. He is one of the most famous saxophone players in the world, sharing stages with such giants of jazz as Miles Davis, John McLaughlin and Mahavishnu Orchestra.

Bill Evans is a world-renowned American saxophone player and producer. He is one of the most creative jazz musicians of our times. He has shared stages and recorded music with such all-time stars as, inter alia, Herbie Hancock, John McLaughlin, Randy Brecker, Michael Brecker, Victor Bailey, Michael Franks, Wilie Nelson and Mick Jagger.

#CONCERT

concert for freedom

Just like every year, Warsaw Rising Museum has prepared a rich programme of events commemorating the Warsaw Rising and paying homage to its participants.

Two great open-air concerts will be organized this weekend in Freedom Park by the Warsaw Rising Musuem. On 26th July, we will listen to a live performance by Tomasz Stańko Quartet, with guest appearances by Anna Maria Jopek and Brodka.

Tomasz Stańko, jazz trumpeter and composer , is one of Europe’s most original jazz musicians. Stańko’s strengths include his distinct tone, the mood of his music and a certain Slavic melancholy, which has developed into a characteristic sound. He has recorded around forty albums and composed music for several dozen films and the theatre. His music has its roots in the classic cool jazz of the 1950s and 1960s.
