#CAFE/PARK

Prochownia Żoliborz. A new life of an old gunpowder

Żoliborz, the greenest borough of Warsaw is improving it’s cafe&bar infrastructure in a rapid pace. Ongoing year is really fruitful in that matter. What’s characteristic about newly open places in Żoliborz is that beside being eateries and cafeteria’s they provide space for cultural events, yoga classes…anything that animate local social life. That’s very true about Prochownia Żoliborz a cafe organized in a place that once was a gunpowder works built by the Russians in the 19th cent. as a part of greater military establishment called ‘Cytadela’. Built as bugbear to dissuade rebellious Poles from organizing new insurrections. What was considered for a long time as a deadly threat now is a cozy meeting point
