Warsaw Critical Mass

Once a month streets of Warsaw are taken over by hundreds of cyclists and other human-powered vehicles owners who want to manifest their presence in the city. They are known as Warsaw Critical Mass.
Warsaw Critical Mass is now the biggest monthly bike parade in Europe. “The Mass is a protest”, says one of the participants, “against neglecting the cyclists by the city authorities and drivers.” They fight for more paths and a better infrastructure for bikes in general.
But the mass is also a manifestation of their life style. Always accompanied by loud music they draw attention of regular passers-by and therefore promote using bikes and in-line skates in the city.
The mass gathers every last Friday of the month (no matter the weather!), around 6pm at Zamkowy Square (Plac Zamkowy) in the Old Town. Each time it takes a new route through the city.
