Impressive barocco and Picasso

The National Museum of Warsaw is the biggest gallery in Poland. Built in the 1930’s presents Polish art in the context of European tendencies and some of the most distinctive and important works that all people in Poland know (ask ANYONE of ‘Battle of Grunwald’ :>) . It also hosts temporary exhibitions which are worth visiting. This autumn if you’re in Warsaw you can admire paintings which represent classical Italian barocco . Monumental works of Guercino presented in the museum came from Poland, Cento and Rome, including one of the most important paintings of the XVIIth century-‘Et in Arcadia ego’

British art-pop, anyone?

The 1975, a Manchester-based group, have just released their acclaimed debut album and now are here in Warsaw for an only gig in Poland. They’ve become popular with tracks from their earlier EPs, like The City or Chocolate but also touring together with Two Door Cinema Club must have had its share in the overall success. Their Warsaw performance had to be moved to a bigger venue due to big demand for the tickets yet you may be sure some will be available on door, just before the gig.
