#FOOD

Officially best food in town!

Gazeta Wyborcza, the biggest Polish daily, gave the 2013 „Best Restaurant” title to Jung&Lecker, a wine bar serving delicious weekday lunches (for 21 PLN between 12pm and 4 PM) with regular menu changing every week (!). Go see for yourself what the town is raving about and check their FB postings (through google translate) to know the lunch of the day-it always includes a soup and a quite wide range of pasta, salads and main dishes which is quite uncommon for a lunch set.  On Wednesday, they’re serving cream of corn with lovage (i.e. „love herb”) and roasted cashews followed by minced steak with boletus mushrooms, julienned cucumber and bulgur. All for 21zł! Dish out the additional 8zł for wine, so worth it! Smacznego! But hurry while the food lasts (lunches might run out by 3 PM).
And if they do run out of lunch, be sure to try pear soup with saffron milkcaps instead!

#MUSEUM

All the pretty neons!

Neons are an expensive version of the billboard – some of the oldest ones have been around for decades. Sadly, they are beginning to disappear from Warsaw’s cityscape. The people behind the Neon Museum have managed to salvage historical neons from the garbage heap of history and created a unique collection (the only other museum of this kind is in Las Vegas). Visit the post-industrial Soho Factory building to see some of the most beautiful specimen! And be sure to check out their giftshop, too.
And if you get hungry, head to one of Warsaw’s most expensive restaurants in building 46 (look for the neon WARSZAWA WSCHODNIA, or Eastern Station Warsaw) in time to get lunch of the day (soup, entree and dessert) for a mere 20 złoty!
Where: Muzeum Neonów (Neon Museum), building 55 in Soho Factory, ul.Mińska 25Map: click to open
When: 12-5 PM Wednesday-Saturday, 12-4PM on Sundays
How much: the museum is run by a non-profit organization, so donations instead of admission fees!
