#MUSEUM

Delve into history through art!

Recently reorganised, the National Museum of Warsaw exhibits an array of works of art dating from the times of ancient Egypt up until the 21st century. You can also admire Polish classics like Matejko (don’t miss his immense ‘Battle of Grunwald’!), Malczewski or Wyspiański. But what truly fascinates us there is the section of European medieval religious art (one of the biggest in the world). This part of the exposition was recently re-opened after massive renovation. We still remember how impressive it was for us when we were kids-2.5 meters tall wooden crucifixes, with all the details of the suffering Christ presented right in our faces… long corridors with silent, mysterious yet beautiful Madonnas and dozens of angels starring at us all the way.. both amazing and frightening. Whoever said museums are boring?

#CONCERT

Harold Rubin and Oleś brothers play together!

Oleś brothers are well-established on the Warsaw jazz scene, playing in various projects and together – Michał as double-bass player and Bartek as drummer – for over a decade. This Tuesday, they will be joined onstage by legendary Israeli clarinet player Harold Rubin to play a suite of 10 pieces under the title “Spirit of Nadir”. Expect to hear jazz with Jewish and Arab infusions! Very much recommended for this cold evening!
