Warsaw Underground Route

Have you ever wondered which is the oldest place in Warsaw? It is situated deep below streets of the Old Town, in medieval cellars under the houses by the Old Town’s Market Square. Only last year those cellars and tunnels were renovated (at an incredible cost of 8 millions euros) and were opened for tourists as the Warsaw Underground Route.

Royal Baths Park

Thursday is also a free ticket day in all objects situated in the biggest, oldest and most beautiful fenced park of Warsaw – Lazienki Royal Baths Park. Designed mostly in the 18th century the park was a private property of the last Polish King Stanisław August Poniatowski. Don’t miss marvelous Palace on Water – summer residence of the last Polish monarch.

Zachęta

Zachęta – National Gallery of Art is the biggest and the most-attended contemporary art gallery in Poland. Situated in the centre of Warsaw, the main aim of the gallery is to present and support primarily Polish contemporary art and artists. With numerous temporary exhibitions of well known foreign artists, the gallery has also established itself internationally. The Polish term zachęta can be translated as encouragement or motivation and refers to the Towarzystwo Zachęty do Sztuk Pięknych, the Society for the Encouragement of Fine Arts founded in Warsaw in 1860.
