POLIN open days attractons

Czułość gallery (named after one of the nicest words in Polish, meaning tenderness) focuses on young and promising photographers and actually is a sort of art collective. This evening they host three musicians who shape the improvised music scene in recent years: Mokrzewski, Dickaty, Kryszk. Their Name Line of Fire reffers to actual socio-political situation in the country.

Jazzowe Zaduszki

Zaduszki,All Saints Day is a catholic holiday wich takes place on 1 of November. It is a day of prayer for the dead, particularly but not exclusively one’s relatives. Around that date we organize concerts, exhibits and spectacles dedicated to memory of departed artists but it doesn’t mean it is all about mourning , mainly it is a celebration of one’s fantastic heritage whereby he/she is eternal in a way. This Thursday you can listen to some fine pieces composed by jazz songwriters: Władysław Szpilman, Krzyszto Komeda and Andrzej Kurylewicz. All that will happen inside of an old fortification remembering Russian Tzar.

Prochownia Żoliborz a new life of an old gunpowder mill

Żoliborz, the greenest borough of Warsaw is improving it’s cafe&bar infrastructure in a rapid pace. Ongoing year is really fruitful in that matter. What’s characteristic about newly open places in Żoliborz is that beside being eateries and cafeteria’s they provide space for cultural events, yoga classes…anything that animate local social life. That’s very true about Prochownia Żoliborz a cafe organized in a place that once was a gunpowder works built by the Russians in the 19th cent. as a part of greater military establishment called ‘Cytadela’. Built as bugbear to dissuade rebellious Poles from organizing new insurrections. What was considered for a long time as a deadly threat now is a cozy meeting point
