Paula & Karol at Stodoła

Let Paula & Karol steal your heart! They’re Polish indie-folk duo playing catchy melodies and singing (in English) about life in the city. A guitarist and a violinist themselves, they’re supported on stage by a drummer, bass-guitarist and lead-guitarist. They’ve just released their new, third album so if you happen to know them already (well, they’ve made it to SXSW so who knows!;) you can expect some new songs, too!

Pergolesi’s ‘Stabat Mater’ at the Praga Cathedral

Have you been to Praga? Even if you haven’t you must have notices the spires of Praga Roman Catholic cathedral overlooking the right bank of the Vistula. This neo-gothic church is one of the venues for the Praga Autumn festival of classical music. This Thursday the artists from Sentiamo group (soprano and alto vocalists plus violins and viola) will Giovanni Battista Pergolesi’s ‘Stabat Mater’. The entrance is free of charge!

Treasures in Old Town medieval cellars

Centrum Interpretacji Zabytku (the Heritage Interpretation Centre), located in original gothic cellars of Old Town houses, has recently opened and is presenting an exhibition about the WW2 history of the Old Town. See shocking pictures of the destruction and amazing effort of those reconstructing it in the 1940s and 50s. The entrance to the Centre is just off the Old Ton square in Brzozowa St. so you can go there straight after the Orange Umbrella Free Tour:)
